With DA's recent update to the "about me/ID" section, I decided I'd finally step up and make me one. I've included some of the characters I work on the most. You won't recognize two of the characters here (unless you know me personally or have been watching me for a very long time
). Also, I didn't use any reference for any of these pictures, I thought I'd let my imagination and memory work together, and hopefully this allowed some of my own style to present itself.
The one to the left is my OC Ruby. She's a 17th century French Pirate. Normally she's wearing a British Officer's Jacket (that she stole
) and a Peacock feather in her hat... but I felt the colors would clash with the outlandish background. If you look very hard, you should be able to find a few more (older) pictures of her in my gallery and scraps; but this is her most recent look. I draw her when I want to draw, but don't know what to draw; and I fiddle around with her story from time to time
Above her is Aang from "Avatar: The Last Airbender". He's the last of his kind, and the reincarnated Avatar... the protector of the world. I can't say enough about this show. Here Aang is, more-or-less, representative of the entire series. Although he's an amazing character, I've probably drawn Sokka, Zuko, and Iroh more often from the series.
Next to him is Naruto from "Naruto Shippuden." He's probably one of my all-around favorite characters from any series. Sure he's immature, childish, and sometimes annoying; but he also has an enormous heart, unwavering morals, and undying loyalty towards the people he calls friends. I've never seen a more realistically pure character.
Bellow him is Korra from the upcoming show "The Legend of Korra," a sequel to ATLA. I didn't really start drawing her until a few weeks ago (When the Avatar community was flooded with new information regarding the show at SDCC). Since then, I can't get her out of my head... I keep imagining how she'll learn Airbending, who taught her water, fire and earthbending; who she'll fall in love with, what sort of trouble she'll get into with the bending brothers, etc. I've drawn so much of her recently, that she sorta forced her way onto this picture. Even though I don't really know that much about her, I wouldn't feel right not including her.
Last, the guy in front (the other character you wouldn't know) is another OC of mine. He's this wannabe artist named Matt who has a ton of dreams, but fears change and hates exposure. Sometimes he gets down on himself and needs a swift kick in the rear to get going again... but, I have high hopes for him. I'm planning on writing him into this story called "life" once I figure out exactly who he is, sometimes he just feels half done. Someday though, I think he could be brilliant!
Oh... of course Ryuki is there too. My little Ninja strawberry. He's used his juice-clone technique and jumped into the gaudy, swirling background... hopefully he doesn't get sick
. You can find Ryuki hiding in every finished picture in the featured section of my gallery from "Death Note: L" forward. I also put together "Strawberry files" every 19 pictures, where I document where he's been.
